Toolkits & Pre-Call Planning: User Guide & Instructions
Welcome to the Toolkits & Pre-Call Planning master guide. This page provides comprehensive instructions for constructing pre-call strategies, setting purpose-driven meeting objectives, launching custom audio rehearsals, and conducting post-call debriefs in Jenius.
Call Planner: Setting SAM Objectives
Entering a customer meeting without a clear, structured objective leaves the conversation outcome to chance. The Call Planner (located under Toolkits in Jenius) guides you through Janek's pre-call planning framework, helping you establish clear objectives, anticipate customer resistance, and outline key discovery questions.
What is a SAM Objective?
Objectives act as a compass to guide your sales calls toward a desired outcome. Effective call objectives follow Janek's SAM framework:
- Specific: Describes exactly what you want to accomplish during the call (e.g., "Gain agreement from the VP of Operations to schedule a technical review with their IT team this Friday").
- Appropriate: Aligns with your current stage in the sales process and customer relationship.
- Measurable: Provides clear, quantifiable evidence that the objective was accomplished.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Open the Call Planner Toolkit
- Log in to jenius.janek.com.
- Click Toolkits in the main navigation menu.
- Select Call Planner from the tool options.
Step 2: Input Opportunity & Customer Context
Enter key information regarding your upcoming meeting:
- Opportunity & Account Name: Name of the customer organization and deal.
- Current Stage: Sales process stage (e.g., Discovery, Solution Presentation, Closing).
- Key Contacts: Names, job titles, and roles of customer attendees.
- Notes & Context: Paste recent meeting notes, email exchanges, or known customer priorities.
Step 3: Define Your SAM Objective
Type your proposed call goal. Jenius will analyze your objective against the SAM framework and provide instant coaching feedback to ensure it is Specific, Appropriate, and Measurable.
Step 4: Review Your Call Plan Outputs
Click Generate Call Plan to view your completed strategy, including:
- Legitimate Purpose Statement (LPS): Suggested call opening tailored to your meeting context.
- Key Discovery Questions: Recommended open-ended questions to explore customer needs.
- Anticipated Resistance & Rebuttals: Predicted customer objections paired with Janek's EUAC Model (Empathize, Understand, Address, Confirm) responses.

Step 3: Rehearse & Refine
- Practice delivering your opening Legitimate Purpose Statement (LPS) and answering simulated customer objections out loud.
- Review your AI feedback score on screen after completing the roleplay to refine your messaging before your actual meeting.
