Unified Platform Administration in Jenius

The Configuration Hub is the centralized control center for organizing your organization’s metadata, security permissions, and competency modeling. By consolidating Roles, Skill Frameworks, Skills, and Tags into a single, unified interface, the Configuration Hub simplifies system setup, ensures data consistency, and powers accurate reporting and AI-driven coaching across Jenius.

Please note: The Configuration Hub is an administrative workspace. It is accessible only to Super Admins and Organization Admins. Managers and standard Users do not have access to this hub; they benefit from its configuration indirectly through tailored coaching, customized activities, and performance insights.

How-To Guides

How to Access the Configuration Hub

To manage your platform's administrative metadata, navigate to the hub from either the Admin App or the Client App:

  • Navigation Path: Left-side collapsible ribbon → Configuration Hub.
  • Once inside, you can seamlessly navigate between four main tabs: Roles, Frameworks, Skills, and Tags.

How to Search and Filter Configuration Items

The Configuration Hub features a dynamic, unified search across all tabs to make finding assets quick and intuitive:

  1. Type your search term into the search bar at the top of the hub.
  2. Switch between the Frameworks, Skills, or Tags tabs while searching; the system preserves your search query across tabs.
  3. Active item counters and page pagination update automatically to reflect your search results. If no matches are found, a clear empty state message is displayed.

How to Create New Configuration Items

To configure your platform successfully, keep these structural principles in mind:

  1. Click the + Add menu in the top-right corner.
  2. Select the object type you wish to create: Role, Framework, Skill, or Tag.
  3. Fill in the required fields in the creation panel and click Save.
    • Note: To maintain database integrity, all items must be created here first. They can no longer be created on the fly inside other modules

Key Concepts and Core Architecture

To configure your platform successfully, keep these structural principles in mind:

1. The Decoupling of Skills and Tags

Skills and Tags are now managed as completely independent databases.

  • Skills measure specific sales capabilities (linked to frameworks and questions).
  • Tags act as broader descriptive labels (for industries, competitors, or products).
  • Performing a Create, Edit, or Delete operation on a Skill has zero effect on your Tags list, and vice versa.

2. Skill Framework States (Draft vs. Active)

Skill Frameworks organize and group related competencies together. They operate in two primary states:

  • Draft Frameworks: Fully editable. You can modify names, descriptions, settings, and linked skills freely.
  • Active Frameworks: Locked to preserve platform data. You can only modify supported fields (such as adding or removing linked skills via individual skill settings pages).

3. Ownership and Shared Frameworks

The hub clearly displays creator information for all configuration items:

  • Jenius Team Frameworks: Pre-configured frameworks created by the Jenius Super Admin. These are "Shared" and open in read-only mode for Org Admins.
  • Duplication: Org Admins can click Duplicate on any framework (including "Jenius Team" frameworks) to create an independent, fully editable copy in Draft status.
    • Note: Linked skills are not copied to the duplicated framework.
  • Deleted Creators: If a custom framework's creator is removed from your organization, their ownership name will display as Inactive User to preserve historical tracking.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Why is my edit option locked on certain items?

Items created by the Super Admin (marked as "Jenius Team") are locked and read-only for Org Admins to preserve standard platform configurations. If you want to modify a "Jenius Team" framework, select Duplicate to generate an independent custom draft copy.

How do changes in the Configuration Hub affect active Activities or Jenius IQ Reports?

Any modification to an active framework, skill name, or role maps automatically throughout the system. For example, if you re-assign a skill to a different framework, active quizzes/Tracks and historical Jenius IQ reporting dashboards will dynamically update their analytics to reflect the new structure.

How do I link skills to a framework?

Skills are linked to frameworks from the Skill Settings page inside the Skills tab. Once a framework is saved and set to Active, you can assign it to a skill during skill creation or editing. Once saved, those linked skills will immediately populate in the Assigned Skills section of the framework’s detail page.

Admin Recommendations for Best Results

  • Configure from the Top Down: When setting up a new metadata structure, start by establishing your Frameworks, then create and link your Skills, and finally map them to your Sales Roles.
  • Use Draft Status for Planning: Keep new frameworks in Draft status while collaborating on your competency design. Only switch them to Active when you are ready to begin mapping skills and assigning activities.
  • Utilize Duplication: Do not build frameworks from scratch if the Jenius Team has already built a similar model. Duplicate the "Jenius Team" framework, rename it, and tailor the skills to your local requirements.
