Creating and Managing Activities in Activity Builder
The Activity Builder module allows Organization Admins to design, configure, and launch structured reinforcement activities within Jenius. These activities, which include quizzes and Tracks, help validate skill adoption, reinforce training over time, and generate performance data for analysis.
Please note: Activity Builder is solely for creating activities. It is not a content repository and does not replace Teach Jenius, nor is it a free-form coaching interface.
How-To Guides
How to Access Activity Builder
To begin creating or managing activities, navigate to the module through the main interface:
- Locate the collapsible primary navigation ribbon on the left side of the screen.
- Click on Activity Builder.
- You will be taken to the Activities list, which displays the name, status, creation date, and reports for all existing activities.
How to Create a New Activity
You can generate highly customized activities using AI based on prompts, uploaded documents, or existing topics:
- Navigate to Activity Builder and click the Add Activity button.
- Select your activity type:
- Quiz: A set of questions delivered as a single assessment experience.
- Track: A scheduled, multi-question reinforcement experience delivered over time.
- Choose your generation method:
- Prompt: Enter a natural language instruction (for example: "Create 10 multiple choice questions focused on early stage discovery for Account Executives").
- Document Upload: Upload a supported document to generate questions based on its content.
- Teach Jenius Library: Select topics from your organization's Teach Jenius library to build questions directly aligned with company knowledge.
- Template: Duplicate and customize an existing template.
- Review the generated questions, settings, and skills.
How to Edit an Activity
To maintain data integrity and consistent tracking, edit permissions are strictly controlled:
- Navigate to your activities list in Activity Builder.
- Locate the activity you want to modify.
- Ensure the activity is in Draft status. Only activities in Draft status can be edited.
- Modify the questions, skills, tags, assignments, or schedules as needed.
How to Assign and Schedule an Activity
You can use natural language prompts to dictate who receives an activity and when:
- In the assignment settings of your activity, select your users. You can assign users manually via a dropdown menu or by entering a natural language prompt.
- Set your schedule. You can type instructions in plain English to define the release schedule (such as "Deliver one question every Monday at 9 AM").
- Click Save as Draft to keep working, or click Save and Activate to make the activity live.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Who has permission to create activities in Activity Builder?
Platform permissions are role-based:
- Organization Admins have full access to create, edit, activate, duplicate, and remove activities.
- Managers can view reports and review responses for the users they manage, but they cannot build activities.
- Users can only participate in activities assigned to them.
Why is my activity not editable?
You can only edit an activity when it is in Draft status.
- Active activities cannot be edited because they are currently running and collecting user data.
- Templates created by the System Admin are read-only to ensure baseline consistency. If you want to modify a template, you must duplicate it first. This creates a new editable copy in Draft status.
Why are Skills and Tags so important in Activity Builder?
Skills and tags act as structured signals within Jenius. When you tag questions with specific competencies, the platform uses those tags to run analytics. If questions are not tagged correctly, your performance reports in Jenius IQ will not accurately reflect your team's skill development.
Can I delete an active activity?
Yes. Draft and Active activities can be removed from the system. However, standard templates cannot be deleted.
